Approach

Kokū was born from a Japanese family in London who fell in love with fashion, image and art. Their mission is clear: to give a stage and a spotlight to emerging Japanese models and artists on the international scene. They had no online presence. They had a vision and nowhere to show it.

We built the branding and the website from scratch, around the tension that defines Kokū: the Japanese and the London, the traditional and the contemporary, coexisting without fighting. A sober identity that hands the spotlight to the people and the work, not to the brand. Restrained typography, plenty of air and a way of showing the artists that treats them as work, not as a catalogue.

The website works as a stage, not a portfolio. Every model, every project, has room to breathe. Branding and web speak the same language: discretion that elevates, not that hides. A site that understands that sometimes the best design is the one that steps aside so what matters can shine.
